Troubleshooting sign-in & notifications
Most sign-in and notification hiccups have a quick, self-serve fix. This page collects the common ones in one place.
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Anyone — these are all things you can check or fix yourself, without needing an admin.
Sign-in issues
Section titled “Sign-in issues”Forgot your password. Tap Trouble signing in? on the sign-in page and enter your username or email — you’ll get a reset link by email if an account matches. See Signing in.
“Sign in with Google” doesn’t do anything, or bounces you back. Two different causes, both handled the same way — fall back to your username and password:
- The server you’re on may not have Google sign-in configured at all. You’ll be sent back with a note to use your password instead.
- Google sign-in only matches an existing League Sage account with that email, or one you’ve already linked from your profile — it won’t create a new account on the fly. If you’re a coach, captain, admin, or official, sign in with your password first, then link your Google account from your profile for the shortcut going forward.
You played in this league before, on a different system, and don’t have a password. Don’t try to guess one — use Claim your account from the sign-in page instead. See Claim an imported account. If claiming says there’s no match for your email, you likely don’t have an imported account — register as a new player instead.
Notification issues
Section titled “Notification issues”Not getting push notifications. Check three things, in order:
- Did you actually grant your browser or device permission when it first asked? If you dismissed or denied that prompt, you’ll need to re-enable notifications for the site in your browser/OS settings — the app can’t re-prompt you on its own.
- Is the toggle actually on? Open Profile → Notifications and confirm it’s enabled.
- Push subscriptions are per device — if you signed in on a new phone or a different browser, you’ll need to turn notifications on there too; enabling it on one device doesn’t carry over to another.
Installed the app but sign-in still feels short-lived, or notifications feel unreliable. Confirm you actually installed it to your home screen (Add to Home Screen on iPhone, Add to Home screen / Install app on Android) rather than just bookmarking the page or using it in a regular browser tab — see Install League Sage on your phone. The longer sign-in and full-screen behavior only apply to the installed version.
League emails (reminders, invites, notices) aren’t showing up. Check your spam or junk folder first — league mail sometimes lands there, especially the first time. Marking one as “not spam” usually fixes it for future emails from the same address.
Calendar feed lag
Section titled “Calendar feed lag”A cancelled or rescheduled game isn’t updating on my phone/computer calendar. Subscribed calendars (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook) refresh themselves on their own schedule — not instantly. Google can take up to a day; Apple follows whatever refresh interval your device is set to. A recently cancelled game (upcoming, or within about the last week) does show up marked “CANCELLED” once your calendar app catches up, rather than silently vanishing — for the very latest status, check the app itself in the meantime. See Sync games to your calendar.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- None of the fixes above require an admin — they’re all things you can check from your own device or profile.
- If something still isn’t working after trying the relevant fix above, your coach, captain, or league admin is the next step — they can check things on their end (like whether your account has the right role or is on the right team) that aren’t visible to you.
