Schedule practices, socials & scrimmages
Your team’s schedule isn’t only games. Add a practice, an end-of-season party or drinks after the last game (a social), or a full scrimmage against an outside opponent — each gets its own page, and players RSVP the same way they do for games.
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Coaches and captains. On a league team, games come from the league’s schedule, so you add practices, socials, and scrimmages here. On an independent team you can add games too.
- Open Games and tap + Add Event.
- Under Type, pick Practice, Social, or Scrimmage (independent teams also see Game).
- A scrimmage needs an Opponent name and a Home or Away pick. Any type can get an optional Title — “Bar night”, “Pizza party”, “Preseason tune-up” — leave it blank and it simply shows as the type (“Social”), or as “Scrimmage vs <opponent>” once you’ve named one.
- Set the date and time, and a location if there is one.
- Tick the players you expect, if you like — they start out as Going — then tap Create.
What each type shows
Section titled “What each type shows”| Type | Players see | You also get |
|---|---|---|
| Practice | RSVP, time, place, notes | The practice hit tracker and per-player practice notes |
| Social | RSVP, time, place, notes | — |
| Scrimmage | The full game page: lineups, scoring, box score, Player of the Game, AI recap | Doesn’t count toward standings or anyone’s season stats |
Practices and socials never have a lineup, score, or stats. A scrimmage gets all three — but the result stays on its own page: it never counts toward standings or anyone’s season stats.
Rename an event
Section titled “Rename an event”Open the event and use Edit next to its details. Change the Title, or clear it to go back to the plain type name. For a scrimmage, Edit also covers the Opponent name, Home/Away, date, time, and location.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- An event’s title is what everyone sees everywhere: the dashboard, the Games list, the calendar, reminders, and calendar feeds. Without a title it reads as its type — a scrimmage instead reads as “Scrimmage vs <opponent>” (or “<title> vs <opponent>” once you title it).
- A scrimmage’s score is final the moment you report it — there’s no other team’s coach to confirm it, so you won’t see a “pending” state.
- A scrimmage’s box score and stats live on its own page only; they never show up in anyone’s season or career stats.
- Find subs works for games, scrimmages, and practices — a social has no roster to fill.
- On cornhole, pickleball, and volleyball teams, a game, practice, or scrimmage keeps its own match page, which has no Edit — so none of them can be renamed there after creation. Socials can.
- Players get the same push reminders as for games (the RSVP nudges, the morning-of reminder, and a heads-up when rain is likely). Reminder emails go out for games and scrimmages; practices and socials are push-only.
- Events appear in each player’s calendar feed and on their Calendar page alongside games.
- Plans changed? You can delete a practice, social, or scrimmage from its menu on the Games page.
