What each sport supports
League Sage runs six sports on the same underlying platform — organizations, leagues, seasons, RSVP, scheduling, standings, and registration all work the same way regardless of sport. What changes is how a game gets scored and how much roster detail the app tracks. Which sport a team plays is set at the league level by an admin; you don’t choose it yourself.
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Nothing to do here — this is background, not a task. Your team’s sport decides what you see; there’s no per-player setting for it.
Softball & kickball — full lineups
Section titled “Softball & kickball — full lineups”These two share everything: a batting order, a 10-position fielding rotation across innings, individual at-bat stats, and an individual stats page with badges. Coaches can write custom lineup rules in plain English (gender balance, position restrictions, rotation fairness) that the auto-generator follows. Position preferences are something you set on your own profile, separate from what your coach assigns you.
New teams in these sports need a minimum roster to get started — an organization typically requires at least 10 players including a minimum number of women, matching the co-ed rules most leagues play under.
Cornhole — round-by-round scoring
Section titled “Cornhole — round-by-round scoring”No batting order or fielding — cornhole games are entered round by round (bag-by-bag, or by whichever scoring mode your league uses) and the app computes the running total and winner as you go. There’s still an individual stats page, tracking each player’s scoring across matches, and post-game notes work the same as any other sport.
Pickleball & volleyball — set-based results
Section titled “Pickleball & volleyball — set-based results”Also no batting order, fielding, or individual stats page — instead you enter the result set by set (pickleball: up to three games in a match; volleyball: three sets a night) and the app finalizes the match from that. The one real difference between the two is in standings math: pickleball credits the match winner one win for the night, while volleyball credits a standings point for every individual set won, so a team that takes two of three sets picks up two points, not one. Forfeits are credited the same way — a full sweep (2–0 for pickleball, 3–0 for volleyball) rather than a guessed score.
Soccer — simple scores
Section titled “Soccer — simple scores”Soccer uses straightforward final scores (goals for, goals against) without a lineup or set structure — the simplest scoring model in the app, similar in spirit to how a forfeit or a cornhole match wraps up, just without the extra structure softball/kickball or cornhole track.

Section titled “Good to know”- Every sport shares RSVP, attendance, scheduling, standings, push notifications, calendar sync, and tournament brackets — the differences above are specifically about roster depth and how a final score gets entered.
- If a feature this help center describes — batting order, fielding, individual stats, position preferences — doesn’t appear on your team, it’s very likely because your league plays one of the score-only sports, not a bug.
- Whichever sport your league plays, post-game notes are always available, and officials can be assigned to any sport your organization runs.
